Be willing to learn the following:

• Train and empower grassroots organizers for impactful civic engagement.
• Build a statewide network of civic leaders to mobilize communities around elections and advocacy.
• Provide practical experience in voter registration, community engagement, digital organizing, and communications.
• Connect fellows with mentors from SVFL, partner organizations, and legal support groups.

The ideal candidate will possess many, if not all, of the following qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a college or university (or a recent graduate within the past year) with a demonstrated interest in civic engagement, social justice, or community organizing.
• Commitment to social equity and democratic participation, with a passion for uplifting marginalized communities across Florida.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage diverse audiences in person and online.
• Demonstrated leadership potential — whether through campus involvement, volunteer work, or community initiatives.
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams and build relationships with peers, mentors, and community partners.
• Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple responsibilities.
• Basic understanding of digital tools and social media platforms (e.g., Canva, Instagram, TikTok, or Google Suite) for outreach and content creation.
• Willingness to learn and adapt, showing initiative and openness to feedback throughout the fellowship.
• Availability to commit to the full 8-week program, including training sessions, fieldwork, and group projects.
• Interest in long-term civic or community leadership, with a desire to continue engaging in advocacy, organizing, or policy work beyond the fellowship.

8 weeks: January 15 – April 30, 2026

Compensation: $14/hour stipend

Location

• Remote position; applicant must be based in Florida
• Occasional in-person travel required for one table meeting in Orlando (accommodations provided)

Reports To: Program Manager

Fellows must provide their own computer and reliable internet access.
